Welcome to the modern city of 21st century which is sick when it comes to entertainment . This city promises a better lifestyle than Mumbai and is also getting the much needed attention it needs after the property boom and the airport approval. But it still lacks having entertainment avenues for Navi Mumbaeite. Come thy occasion and the entire youth of navi mumbai flocks to Mumbai for partying and enjoying the various entertainment joints that Mumbai Provides.

The per capita income of an individual in Navi Mumbai is very high as compared to Mumbai. This is because the major population of Navi Mumbai is of the earning age i.e between 18 to 60. This makes it obvious that a major chunk people complain about lack of avenues to spend and party in an around Navi Mumbai making them fly to Mumbai for a better and varied options to spend.
Navi Mumbai boast about its Auditorium Hall in Vashi which conducts plays in hindi and Marathi, But does not organize plays in English for the growing modern literate population of Navi Mumbai. The only Multiplex of Navi Mumbai, Meghraj Multiplex has also increased its rates to skyrocket because of the competition it is going to face in near future. The facilities though provided by the Multiplex do not even catch up with the standards of various multiplexes like Cinemax, cineplanets or IMAX. And above all, this multiplex is rarely up to the expectation of the population for different English Movies. One has to rush to Mumbai to enjoy Hollywood Masala. Various Multiplexes coming up in different malls in Navi Mumbai might solve movie watching problems to some extend.Though a few Hookah centers and café coffee centers have opened up in past few months but it still really doesn’t add up to the entertainment avenues of Navi Mumbai. The boating facilities at many lakes in Navi Mumbai could be improved as a drive to improve recreational sports. Government could also earn revenues from such projects.

Talking to Vishal Doshi, a 20 yr Old College going student and earning a handsome 5digit income complains about lack of sport stadium for indoor and outdoor games. He further said that, “NMMC should make gymkhana’s in all nodes of Navi Mumbai and even make more innovative gardens with modern equipments. Swimming pools are completely non existent and something should be done about it.”

Jimmit Gandhi, another youth says, “ The entertainment avenues in Navi Mumbai is pathetic. Their should be more no. of Multiplexes and Entertainment Centres. NMMC could auction open spaces to private parties which would be building something like Esselworld , Fantasyland or even our very own 1st Disney Land! Other entertainment centers could be like bowling, Go karting, pool zones etc which would satisfy the daily dose of entertainment to Navi Mumbaeite.”

Other options to improve entertaining lifestyle of Navi Mumbai could be by having botanical gardens, joggers park, science museums. Such places will not only aid the local inhabitants but will also increase the popularity of Navi Mumbai. Navi Mumbai also lacks a good number of pubs and discotheque for the earning group to chill and relax. People often run to Mumbai for all these things.

Navi mumbai is the city of 21st century where people don’t really mind spending for quality and entertainment. If at all entertainment centers are developed in Navi Mumbai , it should be made sure of good quality as the lifestyle in Navi Mumbai is getting “Branded” with every passing year! There is a very vital need for recreation in Navi Mumbai.
